Ok can anyone tell me what the BRAKE LINING light is for? I'm new to BMW's and have no clue.

yup. just a lil advanced technology on a old bmw. once the pads wear enough, the sensor will hit the rotor and ground out. thus completing the circuit and turning on the light.-FREEDOM- is cruisin at 80, windows down and listening to the perfect song-thinking "this is it"
