Modify windows so they go all they way down?

Hey, I didn't know which sub-forum to post this in and couldn't find it in a search, but is there any way I could modify the window bracket or anything so that it doesn't stick up that extra half inch or so and goes all the way down instead? It would make resting my arm out the window much more comfortable...

    Thanks,
    Peter

Well, mine go down all the way and aren't broken or anything, but they stick up maybe half an inch when they're all the way down...

              Damn that must suck :)

Just take it apart and see if you can bring the window an inch lower with it still being able to close all the way

It especially sucks since I don't have properly functioning AC and always have the window down, so I usually just put my elbow inside of it and put my hand on the top of the door frame... One of these days, I'll take the door card off and take a look. Unless one of you more e30 abundant people have a parts car that is already dismantled to the point it'd be easy!

Iirc the early cars use a different regulator that doesn't allow the windows to completely go in the doors. The late models use a different regulator that allows them to sink completely in the doors.
That's the way it is on my cars. M3 doesn't go in all the way, cabby does.

                        I dunno

K's iX has the early style regulators. If you have a little round cap on the door panel, you have early regulators. Very easy to tell.

                            IIRC, they are interchangeable.

88ix's definitely have early style regulators, other 88's probably do as well.

mine all go down. I hate new cars that only let you roll them down 1/2 way. stupid people..
