    Leaking sunroof...drain holes cleaned...

My sunroof has been leaking since I got the car (87 325e)...I pulled the sunroof out today and cleaned all the drain holes and they flow very well...reinstalled the sunroof and even aligned it better than it was before, it now sits perfectly flush with the body.

So, I washed it just to test how well it kept water out, and it leaks worse. The seal around the outer edge is indeed damaged, but, I was told that was just for wind noise...does that seal keep water out and the drains just for what trickles past? Or is there something missing from mine?

Also, the inner panel (one with headliner on it) is pushed all the way back into the roof. More or less my sunroof is broke and doesn't work so I had to push that out of the way to remove it. Is that part of the seal?

I'm just lost...I had the thing off and saw nothing to keep water out :/

open it, lather it with vaseline, and shut it. should work.
(ps buy coconut vaseline or your car will smell like anal sex)

There is a water gutter that is attached to the back of the headliner piece which slides back and forth. Since yours is broke and you removed it, it is most probably pushed all the back in the roof of your car. Grab a flash light and look inside, you will see it, pull it out and try to zip tie it to the rollers from somewhere where it will pull and push it. Or put the headliner piece back in and make sure you attach the gutter.
