Jumped Car at Coil, now no start:(((

    Hey R3v,

Last night I left my lights on and pushed started my car. I then went to smoke hookah went outside and my car wouldn't start. This time we decided to jump the car and for some stupid reason thought we could do it at the coil.... and to top that off we might of gotten the positive and negatives mixed up.

    It cranks
    we get fuel
    no spark
tried my friend coil and still didn't work

    any help would be great!

    BTW it's a 325e 1987

Check your fuses, and what were you thinking? Are you getting any voltage at the coil?

How the hell did you think that the coil wires would move enough current to start the car anyway?

You may have done some serious damage, but check fuses first.

Wow, what else were you smoking?

Coil is connected to the DME. You most likely fried your DME. Replace it and the coil.

Im actually on my way to go look at the car now, I left it in the parking lot. I'll report to you guys in a few. What can I say it's Cali ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Jk, I don't smoke. It would make more sense though :(

Most likely fried a lot of electronics. Hopefully you just blew some fuses, but depending on where you tried on the coil/ mixed wires you couldve fried the dme.
I have friends who are EOD bro.

That's awesome. I have friends who make coffee for a living, but you don't see me rocking out a bunch of lattes

LOL! Should have tried jumping it straight from the DME or Instrument Cluster ? :D

The fuseable link to the switch is most likely fried.
I had a coil short to ground. Took a lot of time to fix all the wires. Good luck!

Hey guys so as many of you said my DME was toast

I'll be going to the junk yard tomorrow and looking for another. I'll post up if this solves my issue.
