Better coolant tank for the E30?

Does anyone make a coolant overflow tank for the E30 that isnt so big and ugly? I have the big one that mounts to the shock tower like in the below pic.

It would be nice to have one that mounts to the side of the radiator like I have seen on E36's. I searched, but couldnt find a thread about this.

You could always switch to a M42 radiator which has an internal tank.

Another option is to swap to a late model cooling system with the expansion tank mounted on the driver side fender well.

Read this about the M42 radiator conversion.

Not worth it for cosmetics, but if you happen to say "accidentally" crack your current overflow tank you could probably talk yourself into it.

Thanks guys! Hopefully I can get rid of this ugly thing soon.

Ironically, the M42 and E36 and E46 tanks explode periodically, often with help from the cap.

          The E30s don't seem to.

as far as i know those tanks are all under pressure as they're directly connected to the radiator.
is the e30 stand alone tank under that much pressure?

The E30 cap lifts at 17.6psi, and the E36 M42 cap lifts at 29.4psi. So the E30 cooling system is under lower pressure, which explains when they seldom burst when old (service life of the cooling system is 10yr/100k).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
