I hear clanking when taking off

My car clanks a little when i take off and when i feather the throttle at low speeds im trying to figure out if its the drive shaft or something else. When last I lifted my card i was able to grab the drive shaft and it slightly moved when i wiggled it. I was told its more an an annoyance than a need to fix. Also I think my driver side rear axle is worn out as well. When I grab it. I am able to move it a little before the diff starts to turn the other side. now do i need a new Diff or a drive shaft of the axle or just say to hell with it and replace it all?

is it a clank or a clunk?

clanking makes me think it's a heat shield/broken exhaust hanger

clunking is a whole other ballgame.

Tighten up your driveshaft bolts before you break something. 99% sure your driveshaft bolts aren't torqued.

Driveshaft bolts, Guibo bolts, locking collar nut on driveshaft, csb, diff--in approximate order of likelihood.

                  Center support bearing.

Couldn't find one on blunt tech, so check: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/BMW-...-bearings.aspx

Get the car up in the air on four tall jackstands (like 6-ton stands) on on a lift. One person "drives the car" while another identifies the source of the noise.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

could be any number of bushings in or mounts that support the drivetrain..

engine mounts, trans mounts, diff mount, subframe bushings
guibo, center support bearing, all related of bolts/fasteners

just throw money at it til it goes away. as a side effect, your car will drive like new again.

I havent been able to check yet cause its cold as the north pole out but just to be clear when i take off it goes CLUNK and if i feather it it goes clunk clunck clunk, when i drop speed and pick it back up it makes the noise not wile accelerating or decelerating. if that makes sence.
