    engine wont turnover

Im trying to turn the engine over to break the crank bolt loose. It wont turn. With the key or with a screwdriver (the 2 posts on the solenoid righ?) . I'm thinking this is probably becasue i have a whole bunch of stuff disconnected. Anyone knows what all needs to be present for an engine turnover?

Why do you need it to turn over? I thought you couldnt drive now.

did you put the crank and cam sensors back correctly? no crank sensor = no crank

ps i dont know whats you've been doing to the car but if you disconnected those then maybe thats a problem.

No crank sensor = no start. It would crank, but not start.

I just disconneted the ground i thought i messed up, to see if it would make a differnece. it engaged the soleniod but no crank. I hooked it back up and when i connect the posts with a screwdriver it just makes a bunch of sparks?

i connected the mounting points of the electical box thing that goes under the intake mani to ground, and now when i connect the posts the starter will spin but the solenoid wont enguage. I guess i will wait till most of it is back together then try it then?

                        i agree

also if the starter is spinning, but not shooting out the starter is shot.

Dont use the starter to break the bolt loose, thats one sure fire way to find yourself replacing a starter! There are a few products out there that can be used to keep the motor from rotating, one even screws into a spark plug hold and stops the piston from moving up. However i would have someone stick a flathead screw driver in the teeth for the starter gear, ring around the flywheel. Takes a bit more work, remove the inspection plate at the back of the oil pan, or the starter itself.

A screw driver against flywheel teeth for 230lbs for force? i think not. I ended up just not replacing the crank seal or lower timing case gasket. I dont think they were leaking anyways. Im going to run the car with just water in the cooling system for a few days. That way if there is a leak i dont have to deal with $20/gallon coolant.

Oh and now that i got it back together the starter works fine. What caused it not to work? the world may never know...
