I dont see why a cork gasket is not working, it worked fro 15 years prior to its attempted replacement. Ive replaced a few, never had an issue. Keep in mind theres a tightening sequence to all the madness of 27 some odd bolts, also theres a torque. This isnt pulled out of some krauts ass people, theres reasons and proof behind why it works.
Delete oil pan cork gasket and just use sealant?

I started on opposite sides, and worked my way back and forth to the bolts across the pan until I got them all. Also, as has been stated, don't tighten them excessively, they just need to be snug.Originally posted by browntownnot just dont overtighten, torque equally and slowly to spec without doing them in a row.Comment

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.

Cork gaskets are usually the least desireable. They are used because they are cheap, not because they will last a long time. I will always use something else if I can avoid using a cork gasket.Originally posted by Joe318isI dont see why a cork gasket is not working, it worked fro 15 years prior to its attempted replacement.
