I dont see why a cork gasket is not working, it worked fro 15 years prior to its attempted replacement. Ive replaced a few, never had an issue. Keep in mind theres a tightening sequence to all the madness of 27 some odd bolts, also theres a torque. This isnt pulled out of some krauts ass people, theres reasons and proof behind why it works.

im not sure if this will help any at all but there seems to be some typed of red sealant on all the seals of the engine, dont know what gasket is in there and i dont know what kind of sealant it is, you could ask stu to see what his dad usesYour signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
