    hood strut question

    Will an e39 strut work as a replacement for my e30?

            One is OEM and the other is junk and will let your hood drop on your head.

                  Sorry, I meant e34, not e39. I just had a spare e34 strut laying around. It seemed like it would fit. It does, but it's a half inch shorter and doesnt seem to be able to hold up the weight of the hood on it's own. I've ordered the strut from the site you gave me. Thanks for the link

                    No problem! It's one of the cheaper sites for parts for our cars and they have great service as well.
