I just open one and there was a white stump where the bulb suppose to go or which model of car came with illuminated switches? And we're can I buy the buld at?

They're not all illuminated, but I couldn't tell what years are or aren't. My guess would be early cars, maybe 84-85 or 86 aren't lit.Current: Brilliantrot '91 318is M20B25

No, early cars 84-85 didn't have lighted switches and over time the damn painted arrows would wear out. The lighted switches were a nice upgrade for those cars."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

Upgrade to the E36 switches. They are not too difficult to install and are much nicer on the finger tips. Also, the E30 switches begin to fail lately. Mine had severe corrosion and current transfer carbon buildup that accumulated over time. Eventually, my switch just busted apart inside and I upgrade. Much nicer.Owner - Bavarian Restoration
