    Alright guys, I checked the fuses, they are all updated to non-german fuses. Problem proceeded. Then, I took the speedo out of the car and reflowed all of the solder joints. Problem seems fixed! Going on 4 days of a working speedo. Aaaaand, my temp gauge works, it didn't before. But the only problem I have now is the fuel gauge quit working. Story of my life.

    @Victor,

    I had the same problem with my 325e. I think it ended up being that someone replaced one of my relays with a non-bmw relay. I checked the schematic and wired the relay correctly. I think it was one of the bypass relays up in front of the strut tower.

      Sent cluster to North Hollywood Speedometer at 6111 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood California 91606 USA with instructions that speedometer was intermittent. They replaced main board. Charged me about $125.00. I installed. No change. Speedometer still intermittent.
      Complained to North Hollywood Speedometer. They said "send it back and we'll replace speedometer circuit board for another $125.00." I said, "FAT CHANCE!"
      I then replaced speedometer with one from a different cluster. Now works fine.
      Most of these companies just have a troubleshooting chart with some rookie reading it. Whatever the symptoms are, they just replace what the "chart" tells them to. They literally just throw parts at it until it works.

      I literally test the speedometer in place on my work bench so I know exactly what is wrong with it. If you guys still continue to have problems with your speedo's, let me know and I can fix it for much lower rates than these "speedometer" companies.

        Cool beans Greg. I didn't know that was one of the services you offered.

          Thanks Greg! Can you check all of the other components as well? Such as fuel, tach, temp?

            I've already completely restored several clusters for members here. Every gauge is checked. All solder is re-flown with new solder, SI board is repaired and batteries replaced, high speed polish on front cover, new odometer gears, red needles, it will work like brand new again. Fully tested and documented.

                No threads on cluster repair yet. Just send me a PM and we can talk pricing. I'll be releasing a thread to the public once my official cluster tester is done.
