Help finding part - First Aid Kit, Tidy Tray hold down "bolt"

seems there should be a push plug or bolt type thing going through the bottom of the tidy tray into the top of that battery cover - there is about a 1/2 in hole that lines up well in both

    but what goes in there

as much as I love this "kit" every time I get the azz to hang out a little, the whole damn thing flies around the trunk - something MUST hold this in place

post a link if you know where to find it and THANKS!!

Why not just drill through your battery cover and run a nut and bolt through the hole?

I had never even noticed that there was a hole there.

Sure there are ways to keep it in place, and Home Depot has lots of them,...but I figured there must be a part missing...maybe costs $3, and would be the "right fix"

Heck, I thought of a bungee cord....but then saw those holes and see they line up....something said, hey....I wonder

I may swing by BMW on my way home and see if they have a microfiche showing a part???

              Good idea, +1.

I agree to try the dealership, at least they could tell you if it's worth the search or not.

That trunk tray has been NLA for a long time--the part number is no longer in BMW's database.
