    Throttle Body Coolant Housing

I recently noticed just the slightest weep of moisture (blue coolant) at the throttle body coolant housing with no noticeable loss of coolant. Notwithstanding, I think I will just go ahead and replace the gasket to prevent a future failure (replacing gasket and new bolts).

Do I need to remove the throttle body to do the job or can I leave the throttle body in place? I will use PB blaster on the bolts in the hopes they come out cleanly. Also, anyone know the torque spec off hand for the bolts (if not, I can look up later in my Bentley).

    Thanks,

    Marc

The gasket can be replaced w/o removing the throttle body. Replace the hoses at the same time.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks Jim - I was hoping not to remove the throttle body, but not a big deal either way.

Also if you needed a quick fix, you could tap the hoses together and by pass the heater.

If you do tape the hoses together can I expect the TB to ice up? (Sorry for using this thread to answer my questions, but i've got the same issue...)

Mine drips quite a bit when the engine runs and it's annoying the hell out of me and getting air in to my coolant system...

              Lol Toby!

I've never heard anyone with an issue with it freezing up.
