    I can start the car...

    A while back my car wouldnt start. After tracing every on the ECU and all that jazz, it started after simply removing the fuel relay. With the fuel relay removed, the car started. I then killed the motor, plugged the relay back in, and the car was driving again. Weird. I thought it was a fluke till the car wouldnt start again this week. I pulled the relay and sure enough it stared up. I put the relay back in and its running, just like before. Is my motor getting flooded? James Crivellone was telling me m20's are hard to flood. It seems as if pulling the fuel relay lets the car unflood its self. Does this sound right? How can I be flooding in the first place? Any similar experiences you've had?

      Are you sure you removed the fuel pump relay? The could shouldn't run at all without it. You probably removed the O2 heater relay which is the same type of relay and is right next to the fuel pump one.

        I removed the fuel pump relay (one in the middle). The car started but then died about 7 seconds later. I'm sure it was just burning excess fuel. I then plugged the relay back in and the car started wothout problems. My question is whats causing me to flood?

          do you have larger then stock injectors in there?

              is this the procedure you've been doing?
              1)try and start the car and it cranks for a long time and then stop
              2)pull the relay
              3)try and start again


              If so how long does it take to start after pulling the relay and turning the key? If it starts immediately then its probably not flooded. If it takes a few seconds it might be flooding.

              also how long does it typically take you once you've realised that the car won't start to pull the relay and then try to start again? Is it enough time for alot of fuel to evaporate?
