In what fashion do you remove the head?

Interested to hear how you guys remove the head when doing a headgasket or similar, seems like everyone has their preference.

    Do you:

Remove the intake manifold and exhaust manifold and then take head off?
Take head off with intake manifold and exhaust manifold still attached?
Take only the intake manifold off and keep the exhaust manifold on?

If you leave the manifolds on they can be used to pry the head loose without damaging the head. Once removed, the manifolds are much easier to remove too.

I leave the manifolds on for removal I've found although its heavier it makes things easier to pull apart once off the car

Having a hoist handy, I remove or install the head with the intake and exhaust attached.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

When pulling a head of an early harnessed car with that does not have a detachable fuel injector connector rail, does one just pull each connector through the back after removing the AFM/Throttle body assembly?
