Service lights stay on with ignition OFF!

I just bought this nice 1988 325is with low mileage.

Everything is perfect, except . . . the orange and red service lights came on and they stay on even if the ignition is off.

We flashed the system with the gizmo to extinguish the light but they still remain on all the time.

Does anyone have a clue how to fix this?

    Thanks

SI batteries are starting to go bad or the SI board. Eventually your battery will drain enough in you leave it sitting there a couple of days and won't be able to turn the car on. If you use it as DD, then you should be fine regarding battery drain.

Yes, I've seen this problem with bad SI boards. Usually this is not related to dead batteries but more related to physically damaged SI boards. Bottom line, to fix it, replace the board. See my sig for more info on SI boards.
