Can't get sparkplugs OFF!!!! HELP.

Hey guys,
Just like the title says, i can't get a single one off, i don t know if the pervious mechanic over torqued them or they were in there for a hella long time but theres no way i could get them off, any ideas? I need to check if they need changing but most likely they do since i can't even get them off. Any ideas will help thanks in advance.

mine were real hard too...it just took alot of torque to break them loose. When you get them out make sure to put the anti seize stuff on the new ones before replacing them. Good luck

Try a sharp strong blow to the wrench, not just even pressure.

use a good long breaker bar. if you don't own one, go buy one. :)

well from the sound of it, its' all about TORQUE. I was just scared to put that much torque on just sparkplugs because i was worried about damaging the head, but alright, i'll take out my breaker bar, lol, and apply crazy amounts of torque to it. :twisted:

Try it when your engine is cold, it works on our Chrysler Minivan

spray some pen lube down there.... let sit for 5-10 min then get a deep socet smaller than 11/16... like 5/8 then hit the top of it a few times with a hammer.... see how that works (you dont need to pound it.... just average/light hits..... if that doesnt work, then i guess you need a bigger hammer)

First make sure you are using the correct tools. Then only apply serious pressure.

I've seen many people strip out their stuff because they were trying to get off using tools that they thought were correct.

My wife's spark plugs on her Montero were in so tight that we had to have my brother AND I had to practically jump on the breaker bar to get them out.

you do want to be pretty careful, because if you strip the threads, you will end up having to use a heli-coil, or even worse buying a new head
