    No power to window switches

    Hey all
Over the weekend my window switches stopped working. Power is going to the window switch breaker, but not to the switches.

Has anyone had this issue before? Any advice?

What could possible be between the breaker and the switch that could have gone wrong? I really don't want to end up re-wiring this.

    Your help is appreceiated.

do breakers fail for no reason? good suggestion though- didn't think of that. I'll swap one out tonight and see if that's the case.

if not, does anybody else have other ideas on what the issue might possibly be?

I'd be down for a faulty breaker as well. Check to make sure there is power on both sides of the breaker when it is in the "on" position.

And yes, the breaker can fail.

check the child safety button on the console? Seems simple, but worth a look.

                  This is perfect.

Use a testlight, not a meter. The testlight will show for a fact that there is power in the circuit, while a testlight only shows voltage. There is a decent one at Wal-Mart for $5, 3M brand, heavier duty than most cheapies.

Remember that only 2 circuits in the whole car run on the "Unloader" relays, thats the HVAC fan and the windows. The starter controls the unloader relays, as bizarre as that sounds. That is what the green/black wire coming off the starter is for, it shuts down the windows and heater fan when the starter is running. EDIT: does your heater fan work properly? if so, the unloader circuit works, perhaps a bad K7(iirc)?

                  Good luck.

Yes, this too, that ground point has failed on more than a few E30s

Hey Luke are you suggesting this may be a relay? My HVAC and everything on my speedometer (except MPH) stopped working days after the window switches failed. I'll check the relays and everything and update with my findings.

Pull your window breaker out and put a jumper wire in between the two wires it's most likely the breaker I just replaced my g/fs she had the same problem
