    Hey guys.

Just wanted to let you all know that I followed Rob's advice, and ran to Checker to get some battery hold down pieces.

Purchased the 10" J shaped bolts with the rubber battery hold down, and did some working with the battery tray.

I also used the original bracket to add that extra holder to make sure that bad boy doesn't move. I can now move the whole car by grabbing the battery.

I'll post some pictures a bit later. ;)

yup, that looks right. I had to get an extended ground, but no biggy.

My optima starts fine, but when it dies, it fucking dies.

it fits in pretty nice and doesn't move much at all if any. I don't think it ever shifts.
wow.. you'd be failed instantly for no battery tie down around here. they don't even let you get away with using a bungie chord. talk about ghetto..

btw sean, hit up your battery cover with some duplicolor trim paint. it'll look sooo much better..

Nando, that's what my dad told me. I did have a bungie cord, but he told me that wouldn't work. He would know too, having been to numerous driving schools in the past at both Ofest, and Road America.

Rather than take my chances, I did what must be done. I feel much more secure knowing it's not moving too. I drive spiritedly almost all the time, and if anything is loose, it moves.

I never even thought of hitting my battery cover with trim paint! I have a can here with me, SEM trim paint, actually. I'll probably hit it up this weekend sometime. Excellent idea! I thought it looked gross in the picture. lol

If you haven't hit up that thing with SEM trim paint yet, DON'T DO IT.

                  Use Perfect 10 instead.
