    Power Steering Belt Replacement ISSUE

Hi, I had another thread open on some drive belt questions but have a problem I have narrowed it to.

I am trying to change the power steering belt and thhe pump/pulley/tensioner will NOT move, Ive loosened all the bolts I can except one which has been stripped. The tooth pin tensioner thingy did absolutely nothing for me and Im getting really frustrated as I've been at this all day. I've tried everything, even just beating at it with a goddamn wrench.

    ANY SOLUTION?

    Thanks

    You have to loosen 5, 7 and 10: http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E3...pump_mounting/.
If you did and it still won't move you may have to remove the whole thing and brackets to free it up.

I dont see a 10 in that diagram, But Im assuming its the one right side of the #2. I tried undoing that bolt but its pretty tight in and a little stripped, cant budge it

No, 10 is on top of 9. For some reason lately the double digit numbers do not show on the bmwfans page. If you select (left click) the number in the diagram and then scoll down you will see that number highlighted next to the part name.

How the hell do you get to bolt 5 without having it jacked up?

it's all accessible with the car on the ground; you might have to lay under there to get at it.

I got mine as loose as I could and then used a 2 foot bar and some penetrating oil to free things up.
