    Cant find the Odometer cable

Guys, Thanks for adding me here. New to the E30 crowd and loving it. Bought a 1989 325I..Love it. Bought it from some guys who don't understand the BMW or appricate it. Everyday I am finding something wrong. For example the last owners spliced in a universal o2 sensor and what makes it worst (After I found a bosch O2 at the junk yard for 6 bucks) I find the O2 bung on the down pipe striped as they forced the Universal into its place. Its $#!% like that I have found but the car is happier and happier very time I wrench on it.

One important thing I found on taking ownership of the car is that the odometer is not working. This makes it hard to track the miles and knowing when to change the oil. I have a Chilton's book (I need to get the Bentley Book). I think I spotted somewhere that maybe the gears inside the cluster breaks and need to be replaced. I dont know

So my question to y'll...How can I fix my possible odometer problem?

That is probably just bad gears. They can be replaced pretty easily once you have the cluster out and apart. I usually get them from http://www.odometergears.com
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

FYI, there is no cable. It's electronic. If your speedo works, but the odometer doesn't, you have broken gears. If both don't work, it could be a bad gauge or a bad pulse sender in the diff or broken wiring somewhere.

I've installed about 50+ gear sets from Garagistic without any problems. Go with them.

I've done several as well. The people at Garagistic are great, their prices are fantastic, and their parts are awesome!
