    SI board service LEDs

My son and I are replacing the SI board in his '86 ES with a refurbished one by Greg.

A guide we're using (http://www.beckerelectronics.com/SIboard/Step_10.html) says to move the circuit board with the service indicator lights from the old SI board to the new.

There is no service light LED strip in the cluster. Just not there. And it looks like no one has ever been in here, but that makes no sense if it's gone.

Ideas? Don't know that we need them just to tell us when to change the oil.

This is from the Becker instruction page. There is a small circuit board perpendicular to the main board, and mounts on a row of pins. In the light blue rectangle with the SI LEDs.

      Ours is not there.

Is there a row of pins where it should mount?

        It could be three things.

        It never had one, unlikely.
Previous owner took it out because it stayed on, most likely.
It's stuck inside the cluster and didn't come out with the big board, also unlikely.

Pins are all there, yes. Nothing loose in the case. I wonder if someone had issues years ago and a mechanic just took it out.

          Do we need them?

We're doing SI board with new batteries, new Garagistic ODO gears, and all new light bulbs.

No, they're not needed, but probably very easy and cheap to get. The bar of leds light up as mileage goes up and there are two grain of wheat bulbs reminding you to "oil service" and "inspection" after a certain mileage.

Yeah you can buy those little leds, try radio shack or such a store, then go online. dab of solder, boom. good to go.

The whole daughter board is missing, not just the LEDs.

I have the led board attachment if you want one. $5 + shipping (probably $3?)
