    bead sand media blast?

Can somebody explain to me the characteristics (harshness, cost, material, ect...) of the diffrent "blastings" (sand, media, bead, other) and their uses?

Can't find much info on it, and I need to decide which might be appropriate to blast my wheels without damaging them. Also I'd just like to know.

Go to Mcmaster.com and search for "Abrasive blasting media". They should have a good rundown.

glass bead can warp metal so can sand there is much difference between the too. sand is harsher than glass bead so it removes heavier build up and corrosion.

Media blast is like rubber beads and crushed pieces of walnut shell i think. It wont warp metal or anything but it will remove everything from it and leave you with a rough bare metal surface.

Glass bead and sand will really only warp something like a fender or something flat. you can get away with glass beading most objects on a car except for the body. Like sub frames and such we use our glass bead cabinent to clean them and then paint it.

If it works id use a wired hand brush and aircraft stripper.
