      Yes. 14 is slotted at the bolt holes to allow you to set 15 at a close clearance to the front subframe. Under normal driving and not braking, 15 touches nothing. When the brakes are applied hard enough to shift the power unit forward, 15 contacts the front subframe and stops the forward movement.

      It's not a damper, it's sole purpose in life is to stop the power unit moving forward.

          found 14 and 15 in real oem those parts are not listed as being used in my 86 eta.

            when i modify my search on real to an 88i, those parts (14/15) are listed, but not for my car. i'm beginning to lean towards the csb letting go. but still, why only when braking. i can downshift from high speep through the gears all the way to 2 or 3 mph and get no clunk, only while on the brake. if it was the csb, wouldn't there be other symptoms/vibrations involved?
