Relay under dash? Blown fuse number 10?

So yesterday I test drove my e30 after my m52 swap, I park the car pull up the ebrake and my fuse number 10 blows. It turns out it was a relay under the dash by the pedals. I have no clue what it's for, anyone have an idea? It has brown/yellow, green/white, brown/white and brown wires going to it.

Nope, abs relay is right where it's suppose to be. I have no clue what this relay is for. It shorted out inside the relay and made my gauges die. I replaced the fuse and relay but I would really like to know what the relay is for. I'll have to go over some wiring diagrams to figure it out but so far I've had no luck with them.

Part of the automatic transmission harness? Was your car originally an auto?

Nope it was a 5 speed, so I don't think it would be an auto trans relay. I'm trying to look for it on the wiring diagrams but no luck.

If the wires that run from the reverse light switch up through the shifter boot wear against the shift linkage fuse 10 will blow. When it blows it takes out some gauges as well as the reverse lights.
                (M20, anyway.)

I haven't studied the wiring diagrams in great detail yet. ABS relay would have also been my first choice.

I believe these also live in that general area ... Could it be one of them?

                  - Turn signal flasher
                  - Seat belt warning timer
                  - Start relay
                  - Something for the 13 button OBC (if you have one)
                  101

Yeah so I've heard, I checked the all the wiring and it was fine. Only problem I encountered was this relay had an internal short, which took out fuse 10. I haven't had a chance to check diagrams but Im pretty sure it's one of the relays mentioned below.

Yeah I'm almost certain it's not the abs relay, Although I could be wrong! I haven't checked the diagrams but I'm sure it's one of these! Anyways I got the relay replaced and put a new fuse in and everything seems to be fine! It's only a matter of time before I yank out all the wiring and turn this car into a track only vehicle!

As mentioned earlier, make sure the wire from the reverse light sensor is in good shape...it connects right at the shifter, that would pop fuse #10
