Has anyone done that ? I'm exhausted to try to fix the f'king brake pad warning light. I now just want to pull the bulb, I read somewhere that it can be done without remove the cluster, has anyone done that ?

You should be able to fix it with a wear sensor. They're cheap.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

It would be better to locate the brake pad sensors and crimp or tape the wires together. Remove the driver side front wheel and the passenger side rear wheel. Locate the 2 wires that attach to the brake pads IF they had sensors. Take these 2 wires and twist, crimp or solder them together. This will create a closed circuit and the light will go off. Shrink wrap or tape them together for extra bond and shield against moisture. Take zip ties and tie them to the strut housing. Done.
Just so you know. The wear sensors are to alert you to pad wearing below safe braking. If you elect to do the above, you must do a vizual insection of your brake pads periodically to judge wear and replacement.
Real talk, you should vizually inspect your brake pads for wear every few months anyway. Light or no light. Automatics wear pads out faster because you use your brakes more with auto then you do with manual.
Good luck................................ G.

correct me if I'm wrong, but im pretty sure that closing the circuit using the method that g.ruff described would illuminate the brake wear indicator bulb. its when the circuit is open that the light is off.
i pulled my cluster out a few weeks ago to fix a bad ground on my fuel gauge. aside from removing the steering wheel, which mightve been unnecessary, it was a simple and straightforward job

When the sensor is new it completes the circuit and makes the light go off. When the sensor is worn down it breaks the circuit and makes the light come one. So by twisting the wires together the light wouod go off.Current

The bulb is inside the cluster. I just don't see how you can do it. It takes only a few minutes to remove the cluster.Last edited by ecsk; 09-06-2015, 02:49 PM.

ecsk, thanks for clearing that up. i suppose i should probably figure out why my indicator stays on even though the break wear sensor circuits are all closed

It could be possible to pull the bulb with the cluster in. When I pulled my cluster to replace the lights, I quickly found out how annoying the green light for the fogs was and pulled the bulb in situ.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30
