Are front spring pads as thick as rears?

I took out my rear ones today and don't remember the front ones being anywhere near as thick as 1/2"+, just curious.

Also concerned about my Bilstein Sports, are they gonna bottom out with 1.3" drop plus at least 1/2" more now? Heard a funny clunk in first test drive it may have been the spring seating.

the clunk is from the spring moving around on the rear perch.. If I were you, I'd order a set of the thinner spring pads from the dealer and put them back on. it's highly unlikely that you'd bottom out without the spring pads, the noise is definetly just the spring itself.

Are you sure? The ETK lists the smallest pads as 3mm. In any case, the fronts are not as thick as the rears, and you should be fine with your Bilsteins.

thanks guys the clunk went away I think I am gonna run without and get the front ones out in the near future. Doing front struts is enjoyable except for tearing my balljoint boots again. Anyone use those urethane boot replacements? I got them but they don't look like they will be any better than a small tear in the stock boot as they don't completely seal.
