Made a mistake with coolant. help ASAP

Hey, I'm a slight m20 noob. I put in pentafrost NF coolant in the coolant expansion tank because it looked completely empty, knowing that I was going to have to bleed the air out of the system. I forgot to mix it 50/50 with water. Only 1 litre of this coolant filled the expansion tank. Should i get rid of all the coolant and just by BMW coolant? I hear it takes 8 litres to fill the whole thing. Please help asap.

I'd say it's probably fine. If it's bugging you, flush it out.

So just take a bit out and add water? I dont think the whole thing was completely empty because it filled up really quick with only 1litre

1 liter shouldn't throw much off. Now if you filled the entire cooling system with straight antifreeze ...

So are you a big devil man or a big man who likes the devil, Mr. 666?

Any way you put it, you should live a little more on the edge than freaking out over 1L of straight coolant in your system. One day you will want to delete this post, Mr. Hardcore 666 man.

          P.S.
          It's fine.

Buy a hydrometer from the auto parts store and measure the concentration. They are under $5. Looks like this:

              Smile and drive car.

Next time it's low, add a liter of distilled water.

If that happens within 6 months, find your coolant leak.

There is no problem here, only internet solutions.

                  LOL

If it was only a liter, it's probably fine, if the existing coolant was mixed 50/50.

Because I live in the northern climes, when I last did my timing belt change and replaced some rad hoses, I went with a richer coolant mix, about 60/40, as we've had a couple of hard winters in a row. Did this in January, had no problems.

Depending on where in Canada you are you might need 60/40 anyway. I think the last antifreeze tester I bought was $3. Now that's US$ so after conversion could be a fortune :)
