Lost the radiator drain plug... Ideas?

Flushed out the cooling system to change it back to BMW coolant and not straight water. Problem is I lost the radiator drain plug somewhere during the process. Anybody know a temporary solution til I can get a new one on Monday?

um....just curious but how'd you loose the drain plug? Its doesn't even have to come out to drain the coolant.

If you knew the thread size I'd say go to the hardware store and get a brass one and screw going to the dealer.

A couple of the cars I have owned had brass ones installed. I thought it was just a replacement one from the dealer.

There was a bit in Roundel a few months back on timing belt changes by Satch and he put in a brass one - I think.

a couple years ago mine actually cracked in half. went to a local euro shop, they didn't have a BMW plug, but it turns out the mercedes plug is the same so thats what I have now. luckily mine was good enough to get me to the shop and back home to pick it up.

Exactly what I did for a few days until I went to the stealer for a plastic one.
