    Wiper delay issue

I searched around already but didn't see anything exactly about this.

My wipers will sometimes switch to full speed while on the intermittent
speed setting. All other speed settings and off works fine. sometimes it
will be working fine and then i hit a bump and it will go on full speed
but will go back to normal after i turn wipers off and then back to low
    setting.

so, switch? ground for the switch? motor? corroded fuse? failing relay?

    any insight will be appreciated.

remove steering wheel, and tighten the ground screw for the turn signal stalk (Philips head). this fixed my intermittent wiper issue. Sounds like the same if it happens when you hit a bump.

      just did that.
both grounding points behind the steering wheel were
a good bit loose I guess only time will tell whether or
      not that was the problem.

      thanks

I kind of have the same issue, so I will go ahead and check those screws.

Now since I haven't done it, I'm not sure if this will work, but why not add a small safety/spring washer to the screw to prevent it from coming lose in the future?

^ I actually just did this with my gas/temp gauges. I dunno why a lock washer wasn't used from the factory. Also it helps to sand as much of the electrical contacts as you can.. bmw stuff gets dirty!

wiper relay fault can cause strange things like this.
