I paid about $235 for a brand new gkn which is OE. Not as cheap as a reman but not that much more than the seals I needed to replace. Too much work to risk an inferior part IMO as long as your budget can handle it.
Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com
They are better than the ones from Advance. Client broke two of the Advance axles in his 318is cabbie and a 4.27 LSD during an Auto-x (he put them in, we replaced with used OEM). I put a surtack in a 300whp turbo m20 car and it's holding fine.
Thanks for the Input guys. I bought a project car I've been going threw, and at first I was thinking about re-greasing and putting new boots on on the axles. But I don't know how long they've been cracked and torn, and the car has seen many miles. So perhaps the joints and the stock axles are tired.
Auto zone ones been good for about 5 months. I daily my car 60+ miles everyday. Beating on it every now and then. BTW the auto zone axles fit real good just I wouldn't use the new bolts that come with the axles because they are too long.
I went with the surtrack axles ($39 @ rockauto), at that price had to try them.
Forcedfirebird- are the axles pregreased in the boots. I would assume so, but they came with a package of grease. I don't want to break the factory style clamp open if no need.
No experience with Sur-Traks in an E30, but I did use them in my Isuzu. The CV joints and boots are pretty good, but the shafts were the weak point. After destroying a few shafts, I used the joint assemblies on my OE shafts and am pleased with their performance. For the price, I think they are worth putting in an E30, especially if it is stock.
