I know this because of all the racing you have been doing and the tire spinning. no normal e30 does that.
if its the rare one, check kinda behind the driveshaft.. there should be a turbo there. you might have struck gold with this one!
    POST PICS!!
there actually a dime a dozen, are you the stoner everyone is talking about on this post?

The kid you raced probably doesn't know how to drive / his engine is tired

the valves interfere with the pistons so you might be s.o.l.. I cracked my oil pan and drove it for 4 minutes without oil. however, I towed it this morning and waiting to hear from my mechanic to let me know if I need a new engine. found an I engine for 450.. so we will see how this goes.

Yeah, 4 minutes is bad. I've been feeling horrible about myself for letting my 4runner's oil light stay on for 5 seconds before I shut her down.

yeah... it was 2.5 miles to be exact, I noticed about half way down because I heard the pistons pinging as if they needed a valve adjustment really really badly.

at first I thought it just needed more oil, but I looked underneath and saw this...

I pulled over to the nearest gas station and towed it the next morning.

Im waiting for our family mechanic to give me the bad news, hes doing a full run down to let me know what parts I need and labor. hes really honest when I give him the e46 m3.

However, I found a dude whos selling a 87 325IS motor for 500 (runs beautifully). it includes the ecu, harness, tach, intake, thottle, everything, but it has 280,000. so Im thinking since my mechanic has to pull the oil pan and may have to do the rod bearings, I mind as well do a quick carbon clean on the valves, machine the head, then have him do the swap for free since itll be included in the labor when hes pulling out the rods.

Your mechanic is only honest if you give him an e46 M3? Sketchy.

not e30 m3.. i wish, but yes e46 and e90. i bought the e90 with my m.d. loans! and when I graduated from san jose state my dad gave me his e46 m3. the 1992 325i was my neighbors and it was my first car.. auto. the es was bought at a lien sale auction, not running.

Don't feel bad. I had to drive my 3vze with the temp gauge in the red for like 10 minutes before we arrived at our camp ground free of meth heads where I could park it and inspect in the morning. Truck was fine.
