So I noticed leaking fuel coming from the passenger fender side of my car. Its a 91 318i convertible. There is a big black tube connected to the tank and it seems to be leaking from around there. Is it better to replace the tank or try finding the hole and fixing it? Also is there any other tank I could fit on the car as I cant seem to find e30 tanks that are selling for $1000. Preferably in Canada.

I just replaced my tank with a $180 aftermarket one from eBay (I know what you're thinking) that comes highly recommended by spec e30 racers in socal. I was having a few fuel related issues so I figured if I was going to pay for someone to get it out to clean it I might as well Replace it.
Everything has been running great and my mechanic commented on how nice it was and that it lined up and bolted in perfectly. So if you need one I'd recommend going that route.
Of course check the hoses first as that would be easier.

Yea I will have to check in a few weeks for that unfortunately. Waiting for the car to come back from the body shop to fix all the rust on it. If its the piping I can get a good deal from my local bmw dealership as I get 50% of parts there since its owned by same company that owns the Vdub dealership I work at.

The rubber connector hose between the filler pipe and the tank is all of $20. I'd make damn sure that wasn't the problem before I started thinking about replacing the tankSeat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com
