i'm trying to remove all the harnesses in an 87 es and trying to do no cutting. it seems everything is tied in together. example, the brake hydra unit with the 5 brake lines running into it behind drivers side head light. when trying to remove it, it's all what seems to be electrical taped into one harness with the ABS sensors, horn, and everything else coming from the front of the car. should i try and get it out as one complete harness or if i start unwinding the tape will they all break off into separate harnesses underneath?

It's because no one knows what you're talking about.
The brake hydraulic lines are not part of the wiring harness. Concerning the body harness, you might need to remove clips, but the harnesses come out as one unit. Don't unravel it on the car, you'll make your life very difficult.AWD > RWD

You cut off some Hydra heads, more grow back, you know...
If you are talking about the ABS, you can just tape up the couple of wires going to it.
It is integral to the body harness, so it's a big job to strip it out.
tnow, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves

If it's factory harness tape and not 'electrical tape' from some hack job then NO it will no 'break apart' further. There will be splices under the factory tape where things may be wired in but they are hard wired and capped with rubber end caps. The harness off the fuse box that goes to the front of the engine bay is all one piece.
