Haha, nah, I'm really not all that worried. It is my track car, my autocross car, and everything in between. I want it to be comfortable, but also light. So, maybe I'll remove trunk tar sometime, maybe not. If anything, next time I go autocrossing, I'll remove my spare and back seat for a change. I've always left it in figuring a balanced car is better than a lighter car. But, I can adjust my suspension to make up for it.

Totalyl agree though. I won't be doing anything major. And, I'll actually be increasing weight when I add my plastic bumpers!

get rid of the trunk tar - easily done. under seat - not as easy - I have yet to chisel that out.

The e30 (6 cylinders) are already nose heavy... why would you want to remove even more weight from the back?

That sticker specifies Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), not the actual weight of the vehicle.

The GVWR is the vehicle weight plus the weight of five big people. I believe BMW adds 440 kg to the weight of the vehicle to obtain the GVWR, which is around 970 lbs. That's where your extra 1000 lbs is coming from.
