replacing freeze plugs with the motor in ???

the freeze plug right above the oil filter is leaking. Can it be replaced with the motor still in the car?

Probably. You might have to get creative with low profile tools to get it out and the new one in.

What do you have to lose by giving it a go?

Can be done but you will have to take alot of stuff off the the top end to get at the freeze plugs.

there is plenty of room to do it. Obviously the exhaust manifold has to come off, possibly oil filter/cooler (one banjo bolt).

IMO, if one is leaking, time to do all of them all but one can do it just to keep her going. Good luck.
