    brake fluid leak

i have lost brake pedal pressure a few times recently. and it comes back without notice.. plus i leak brake fluid which collects nicely in this trough.
searching for the leak and cleaning i came to the conclusion the grommets were failing in the master.
we switched them out. re bled the lines and resealed everything. i have pressure and stop perfectly.
on the drive home i noticed more brake fluid in the trough.. (see pics)

directly below the master is a trough with a hole that goes to the back of the car ... the fluid collects there and leaks out another square hole further back ... that trough in the chasis is about 3 feet long...

do you think it still has fluid in it?
does a puddle brake fluid slosh that much?

i have dried the trough again and will take a look when i get home to see if its wet again...

    anyone deal with this before?

    hope it makes some sense....

        U needa new master cylinder.

Doo eeeet Now! And then clean the brake fluid out of your booster.
        With soap and water.

            master is new.. one month.
grommets are new.. all is seated properly. all lines bled.
i have put my hands all around the booster and master and come out with dry fingers. i can't detect a leak there.. i have checked under the dash where the brake peddle hits the firewall and its dry there as well.

how would fluid back flow into the booster then flood this trough?

so i park. dry up everything.. after hours of sitting no leaks take a drive and its flooded.... wtaf?

Any cracks in the housing? Clutch fluid hose good? Did you nick the metal brake lines? Tie a plastic bag around it and see if the bag catches the fluid.

i tightened a quarter turn on the two main nuts off the master. dried everything up. lets see what happens there. maybe the flange on the line out is fucked?

i'll report this afternoon after a 60 mile drive running errands and kids...

                      Check all the fittings.

Check where the reservoir seals to the master cylinder

Check the master cylinder, it's not uncommon for a reman to be bad out of the box.
                      I do things.

it's a new master.. all fittings tighter than a 17 yr old...

the leak is coming from the bottom of that unidentified thing in previous post...

                        need a part number.
