ive got the H&R's that your getting and the bilistiens, are you getting the "kit" that BMPD sells? cause thats what ive got. i love it, noyt to stiff but just right. its not to exttreme either, perfect for a daily driver. once you get that setup tell me what you think of the sway bars. i want to get the set that your getting but i dont know how much different they will be from the stock. thanks.

they are pretty good around corners. i drive on some bumpy roads cause i live in the country, and they are pretty stiff, its not uncomfortable or anything (i think its fun). i think they would be ALOT better with urethane bushings (just a little more bumby), i almost got some but desided to stick with the stock rubber. sway bars would be nice, (if i had the money). but i think its a good price for the kit that bmpd sells, well worth it.'91 318isComment

I know of a guy in my area that uses bilstein tourings up front and sports in the rear matched with H&R Sports. The shop that did it for him found this to be a very good setup on a 318is. Question I have is why would you use tourings up front? Can they take the sport springs too?Comment

theyre supposed to be valved the exact same, but the the sports are about a inch shorter to accomodate lower ride heights, from what ive heard. the tourings in the front and sports in the rear sounds like a decent setup for a well balanced car, i have my konis adjusted to full soft in the front which is practically stock stiffness, and full firm in the rear, otherwise it has noticeable understeerOriginally posted by e30fanok real quick question..are bilestines HDs better than sport..?..thanks..Jay

if you are lowering your car get sports all around, unless you like bottoming out your shocks. ;)Comment

The Bavauto offset urathane control arm bushings are nice... kicks the wheels forward a lil bit. Get new Shock mounts also. Stock mounts for the front should be ok, but in the rear, either get the Cabriolet mounts (stronger) or some aftermarket beefed up ones as these are supposed to wear easily. Are you going to do your ball joints while your at it? I didn't know when mine were done when I bought the car, so all that stuff got overhauled. If your getting swaybars, look for the info on reinforcing the rear mounts because the stories about them POPPING off under load don't sound too fun. For the tires, I would knock them down a series, like 45, so the rolling diameter is not larger than stock. My Kosei's have 205/50's on them and they are pretty damn close. So if you were to run a 225/50, I think it would be a bit larger diameter... even though the wideness would be so sweet. As far as the strut tower brace goes, I have the BMP one, but I have herd conflicting arguements about its design... supposedly it's not stiff enough for some people, but I argue I can feel the difference. As soon as that car gets out of 4x4 mode, you will already notice the fattest difference... a smile throughout the entire first testdrive- that and mashing through the gears, whoop whoop! I just did all this work on my car myself (and once before about a year ago) so it's pretty fresh in my mind if you or anyone has any questions. I am no expert, but I offer what I know.
