Car shakes wildly at 62 mph only wtf?

So, my girlfriends 90 325i shakes pretty badly at 62 mph. If feels like it's coming from the front passengers side - and i just had the tires balanced to try to fix it but it did nothing. Ideas?

I had that as well some time ago because of a bent rim. Then the rim bent more due to my stupidity on taking right turns with 10km/h and the car was shaking very bad at the 140-155 km/h range.

Mostly, when shaking at 100+ km its one of the rear ones, and below that its one of the front ones.

in addition to whats been listed, wheels that arent hubcentric can give you problems

I'm thinking it's the front struts. I'm going to change them soon. I'm in sugarland.

its something other than your struts. im not saying your struts arent bad but its more likely, CAB,tie rod ends, wheel balance, ball joints etc. start cheap and work your way up. swap wheels front to back and see if it changes.

I had the front wheels balanced and it made no difference.

An out of round wheel is not going to be helped by balance. That can be caused by a bend or by putting on a non-hubcentric rim, all of this has already been mentioned, you should try investigating further. Does she have stock rims? If not, I bet they need rings. If they're stock or have rings, find a shop with a Hunter 9700 machine which is capable of detecting an out of round wheel.

New and/or stronger shocks could help hide the problem by dampening out the vibration. Start by checking every balljoint and bushing. If the vibration gets really violent under braking from that speed, then it's definitely a blown CAB.

I don't get much shaking when i brake - and the wheels are bottlecaps. i'll look over everything again before i replace the wheels.

i had that shaking around 60-80 mph cause i had a bad wheel bearing. at 100mph the whole car felt like it was going to tear itself apart.
