    strange issue

alright i just got the car all back together after doin the clutch
    heres what i did,
    new clutch
    new pressure plate
    new pilot
    new slave
    resurface flywheel

the problem is, when you rev the engine up to 2k it shakes, it feels like something is out of balance
it doesnt matter if the clutch is in or out, in gear or out of gear moving or standing still, at first i thought it may be the exhaust shaking but i tightened it down and its not moving.
i fear my flywheel is out of balance now, does this make sense?
    anyone have an idea?

If you're afraid your flywheel is out of balance...I'd be afraid to drive that car...

everything has to be torqued down specifically, did you have a torque wrench?

yes, im gonna go back under and check all the mounts and everything
its strange you cant but barely feel it in the engine but it shakes the drivers a fair amount

i doubt this is the problem but i couldnt get the rear hanger for the muffler on

Maybe when you were wrestling with the tranny, you screwed up the motormounts?
            Or the tranny mounts?

when my buddy and i did a tranny swap we were pretty rough with all the mounts and there was no vibration. maybe when they resurfaced the flywheel it got out of balance or something along those lines.

do you have the harmonic balancer?

                  ^^^

                  My sentiments exactly...

Head bolts and lug bolts need to be torqued. Flywheel bolts need to be fucking tight. lol

either way i torqued them fine, i really dont wanna have to pull this shit back out

i would think i would be able to feel it more in the engine if it were an engine mount

alright more news from the front lines

like i said i can barely feel it in the engine, but when you sit in the drivers seat you can feel it and honest to god it feels like its comin from the rear
i held onto the muffler and i felt it more there than i did in the engine

either way on thursday im puttin it back up in the air and checkin through everything

if you guys could think of things for me to check that dont involve tearing it apart again that would be good, if i can find anything without pulling it again ill just do it again on spring break

Do you have urothane motor or tranny mounts. THey transfer alot more vibration as well.

                              Tranny Mount

I dont know if its the same, but on my bros e39, he did a flywheel swap, and when he gets to a certain RPM the car shakes alot!! Later found out that the technician over tighten the tranny mount, and that why it was shaking. If your tranny mount is crushed. There will be alot of vibration. Buy new mounts and dont over tighten it, forget the torque spec, tighten it by hand.
