225/45-16, IF you have the perfect offset.

For tires, I recommend Yokohama AVS ES100s. They're the only tires that Yoko makes in 225/45-16... and they're awesome.

Those would be a tad bit undersized.

225/45-16 is a great choice. They are PERFECTLY sized height-wise, so no speedo error, and they look nice and meaty on our cars.

205/50-16 is your other alternative for tires.

205/50/r16 here on my 16*7.5 hocks but my offset is not correct so I can't go wider without rubbing.

what's your offset? I had the same wheels, mine were ET20.. I find it hard to believe you'd still have rubbing problems on an is, makes me wonder how I had them on an ix!!

I have no idea, the rear is tucked slightly but there is only aroudn maybe 1/4th to 1/8th inch clearence, and up front whent he wheels are full lock the tire rubs the frame and the fender sits on the tire, plus whever pulling into a uphill parking lot with a little curb the tire catches the fender.

205/50/16 for more sidewall or 225/45/16. IMO, 225/45/16 is better. The 205/50/16 is a little too big looking and I believe it's slightly oversized in diameter vs the 225/45.
