Or find someone who can properly weld aluminum to reinforce stock ones. :) I've seen it done on an M30 and I'm having mine reinforced just in case. After seeing the abuse that M30 goes through (at much higher RPMs) I'm set on having that done for my M20.

rockers break due to worn valve springs. the valves "float" ad that is what causes them to break( the rocker is moving faster than the valve. put new springs in it and your golden. the stock rockers can handle the revs no problem

hhmmm, sounds like a statement i would make, but i am not THAT stupid.

and no it doesnt, hitting the r3vlimiter probably slows you down, especially if you are trying to pay attention to traffic and you dont realize how close you are.

if you want better shifts, get a clutch stop, a short shifter, or just better yourself. letting it hit off of the r3vlimiter doesnt have any positive benefits in that scenario.

Yes Mr. Deagle, because out of all of the BMW engines in the world that have suffered valve float and broken rocker arms, somehow nobody has figured it out. Thank God we have you

dude sounds like the same exact thing that I done to my M20. Exactly the same type of conditions, ei reving hard up a highway merger ramp to redline on first gear. THe engine let go whiel shifting from 1st to 2nd.

In my case all the rockers were fine... the noise is coming from the bottom end. I figure I have either a busted rod or spun bearing on #5 or #6.

I just got putting in a replacement M20 so I will tear the broken engine to find out the culprit.
