spacers - are hub-centeric really required?

So I picked up some borbet type-c's. Actually they are fake Borbet type c's. (laugh if you want)

I wanted to mount these up but the inner diamater for the bore on the wheel is 60mm - and I assume I would have to get custom spacers made if I wanted the spacers to be hub-centeric.

1.) DO I really need hubcenteric spacers?
    2.) does anyone make a spacer for me(12-15mm, wheels are et38 16x7.5)
3.) if not, where can I get a custom spcer made?

If you need spacers, get H&R. They make hubcentric 15mm ones (don't forget longer lugs).

You need hubcentering rings anyway. You can get those at a decent wheel/tire shop.

Speaking of this, I just got some BBS RX' and I had to get 15mm spacers and hubcentric rings to mount the Kosei' I have now. Today, I went to the wheel shop where I got the spacers to try and get different diamater hubcentric rings because the ones I have for the Kosei' are still too small for the BBS'. The guy I talked to told me I need to get new spacers for these wheels. Can't I just get new hubcentric rings (1/6th the cost of spacers)? Why would I need new spacers? TIA.

Spacers 10mm and over should be hubcentric.

You should have one set of hubcentering rings for the Kosei's and one set for the BBS's.

Yes, I agree. But this guy is telling me I need different spacers. I makes absolutely no sense.

call a competent place like the tirerack. I'm sure they'd be able to sell you the proper rings or refer you to somewhere that can.

You need centering rings, no matter what. Order some off of this website, they are based in Canada. I ordered a set from them and got them shipped for about $30 total.

FYI, your hub diameter is 57.1 mm.

funny how they are just plastic. I just test fitted some 15" konigs that came off a Scirocco. they work with the hubcentric spacers that are on my 17's.

If I wheels with a et40 offset, how large of a spacer will I need?

You could do a 15 or 20 mm spacer. Preferrably 20.
