So my car died on Monday night, and a friendly tow and quick diagnosis later, we determined the fuel pump to be bad. Got the new pump all situated, should be fine. Decided I may as well change the filter as well, but when I raised the car to get it out, I noticed the little rubber line that sits behind the filter (farther up towards the rear seat) has surface cracks. I am only interested in taking the filter out once, and figure I should probably replace all the rubber lines. Realoem says 8x13mm. Does this basically mean I need to grab 8mm OD hose, and just cut the pieces I need? I'm sure I can get that anywheres... let me know what you guys did.

Make sure you get fuel injection hose when you do buy it.Comment

BMA lists 8mmOD rubber, and 12mmOD cloth covered fuel hose. The hoses in there now are rubber...Originally posted by chileelkyamaze about the enthusiasm e30 generateComment

they have to be hose rated for fuel. you can't just use any rubber hose in there.. vaccum hose won't hold up to having gasoline in it.Comment

The most important thing is- (as MR 325 mentioned)- make sure you get Fuel Injection hose, NOT just regular fuel hose. Your car may end up dying a firey death if you use regular fuel hose.
And yes, it's 8mm ID x 13mm OD.

Oh, I got that, for shizzle. I just wanted to find out the actual sizing of the hose before I take it all apart and have a car that doesn't run. Kinda hard to go to the store after that. If it only has to be close in diameter, that is fine. I've never done this before and want to have the right parts in hand before I pull the filter out. I feel kinda dumb asking this, but there doesn't seem to be a fast easy answer in Bentley, BMA, Pelican, etc.
edit - ok, 8mmID, 13mmOD - that's what I needed. Thanks. Didn't realize that's what the realoem designation meant.Originally posted by chileelkyamaze about the enthusiasm e30 generateComment
