tockico shocks/springs

i posted a question earlier about tockico's, and basically got the answer that they were shit. Upon further investigation, I emailed the ebayer who sells these kits, asking if there is a warranty offered. He replied something to the effect that if they are installed correctly, there is a lifetime warranty. Should i beleive that, and go for a set, orleave it alone? I am on a tight budget, so these would be perfect. If worst comes to worst, the things would blow, and i could just get a new set.

"if they are installed correctly" keywords there. unless you have a shop do it (which is a waste of money, it's easy), you have no way to prove that they were installed correctly so the warranty is basically worthless. just save for bilstiens, they aren't that terribly expensive.

tockiko actually have a one year warranty. I found this out talking to Yan (E30-330) at Davis shop andhe said that like a week and one year they blew and he was told SOL.

This and my best buddies dad works for a VERY large distributor for them and when I first got my car I asked him about thier kit and he told me they were shit and that I shouldnt put them on my car (coming from a guy whos livelyhood is from selling them).

I've run those before and they're worthless, especially the springs. Wait and buy something that is better.

The key here is to stay clear of the Tokico Blues. I know someone who ran these on an '87 325is and they were shot in no time. An utter waste of money. If you want to get your money's worth out of a Tokico product, buy the adjustable Illuminas. These are designed and engineered differently than the Blues......vastly superior really.

I know this from first hand experience. I've got Illuminas on my car with H&R Sport springs and they have held up very well with over 60K miles of aggressive driving (including some track time).
