maybe picking a m50 M3 crank! have a question!

Guys, maybe I will buy a m50 m3 crank from a blew engine, will see it tomorrow and will look if it works yet.

If so, perhaps I will buy it , with time and patient I will see if ii can buy a m20 blcok and make it fit there, to crank up my cubich inches and make a stroker from it, sicne is forged is better.

Please just don't say me go a find a eta or TDS crank, no, I won't use it since is not so common here.

I think Stu knows about this, if so please give me some input in what mods need the crank to fit correctly in the m20b25 blcok.

There's a guy that had a 3.0L or 3.2L M20 that used the crank from an S52B32. IIRC, he had to do a LOT of work, including converting the top end to accept a timing chain rather than a belt.


I don't remember his name, or how to get in contact with him, though :-/

i dont think you have to modify the top end to accept the chain....you need to get in touch with Dave who had the 3.0 cabrio that got fucked from behind.

Yes they did. The 2.9L kit consisted of a modified M50 crank (cast). The 3.0L kit utilized a modified S50 crank (forged). In order to obtain the displacements mentioned, a 1mm overbore of the cylinders was required.

Well guys this is the engine wich contains my crank, other guys are telling me what mods need to be done for my stroker and what pistons/rods have to use

Don't know exactly the history of it but ther pics can tell you + - what happened, hopefully the crank is still ok...I will check it in this week tough.
