Where does your temp needle sit?

I was wondering what the normal position for the temp needle is? Does anyone have a 325i and the needle never goes over half? Mine will go over when sitting but can sometimes go down to 1/4 if the heat is on and Im moving. Just wondering what the norm is.

Also, what could cause my engine to have trouble revving past 5000 rpms?

    thanks

With the fan delete I still rarely see the temp needle sit at the middle mark. Driving around I sit just to the left of center with the aux fan off, and a little further left with it on. When I idle for long periods of time I cut the fan on anyway, so the needle will OCCASIONALLY creep up to the middle mark. Most stoplights aren't long enough for this to happen though.

Mine stays a good bit to the left of the middle. If i have the a/c on and I sit at a light for around one minute it will rise to the middle or a little above but it goes back down once I start driving again.

Mine stays on the 1/4 mark on the left if I'm in the highway and in between that and the middle if I'm on a stop and go basis.

Only reached the 1/2 mark once after staying in the same spot in a traffic jam for 1/2 hour.

Always slightly over 1/2 When my tire shreded (second one of the trip) while I waited for help with the ac on sitting in 158 degree noon heat in the Mexican desert it went to 3/4. Sat there for almost 2 hours, didn't go higher.

btw how do you guys get the pictures to show up in your posts?

Mine always sits right below or on the 1/2.. probably a combonation of the old engine and my driving habits..

While moving it sits at 1/4

While sitting still idling, it will slowly creep up to 1/2

Mines the same as yours, but it should sit at halfway all the time even when moving. If it doesnt you are using more gas and I believe getting slightly less power too. Time to change the thermostat?
