How is it done? To make the shipping size smaller, but also to replace the center support bearing on my new manual drive shaft.

Make sure you put the two pieces back together in the exact same way they were before (mark the splines with paint) and I wouldn't worry about rebalancing it.
See the big nut shaped thing that goes around it? Take a pipe wrench or channel locks or something and loosen that. Then they'll pull apart.Comment

I turn my sig off sometimes just so it doesn't appear over and over on the page.
Bill, that's a good idea, I will try that. If it wobbles when I reinstall it, its easy to remove to have it rebalanced.Comment
