Dude it ain't rocket science, I looked at my engine bay and replaced it without questioning anything.
I like space to work, so I just removed the AFM and the airbox from the car. After that, take off the 4 clips holding the airbox together and put the new filter in.
If you don't want help don't ask. Changing the air filter is one of the most simple maintenance tasks on a car to perform, short of checking the air in the tires.
"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

There appear to be several fastners that may or may not need to be removed. I don't wan t to do more than I have to, so I asked. It is unnecessary to make rude comments like it ain't rocket science. If you don't want to help don't reply

When all else fails, just remove the whole thing and pull it apart or buy a Bentley manual. Sometimes the best way to figure it out is to take it apart and put it back together.
There are 4 clips holding the bottom half of the airbox on. Unbolt it from the support bracket, flex it up and remove the clips, then remove the bottom half of the airbox w/the filter, swap the filter and reverse the steps to put it back together.

I am planning on doing it in the morning. I have a new oem filter but want to know how to do it so I can do it in Laredo in the hotel parking lot after I get the K&N. I have a Haynes manual that must be showing an early car it is totally different.
I have r&r'd engines using only the manual & intuition, but I know there are always tricks to doing anything so I asked. I see no reason that I shouldn't ask including the possibility I will get unpleasant responses. Thanks for the help.
My Tundra's was easy to remove 4 clips top off pull filter replace filter replace 4 clips.
Take off the 2 nuts holding the airbox on the driver's side and another nut holding the AFM in place. With a screwdriver, unscrew the intake boot a bit to disconnect the AFM from it. Pull AFM and airbox in upwards direction ( that means up and out of the hood ).
There are 4 clips holding the top portion of the airbox to the bottom part of the airbox. Unclip them by putting your hand in the clips and pulling them off the top part of the airbox. WARNING: bottom part may fall when unfastening the last clip.
Look for the old air filter and replace it with the new one. Re-installing is just the opposite of what I said. That means do the last step first, onwards until you get to the first step last.

For future reference, buy a Bentley.
Thank you very much, should you want to refer the original post I have a Haynes and it looks completelty different so I asked, further I don't trust it because everything I have tried to use it for has been completely different than it has shown. Thats why I bought a dvd manual that is supposed to have everything from e30 to current, that should keep me from asking any more tecnical questions, but it's in Laredo so I have to ask until next week.
